Here's the combat prototype Fenderize has made. I hope it's ok for him that I publish it here. With this you can try different values and see how they work out. In kon the aiming is supposed to be happening with this kind of an attack bar and hitting a key to stop it (to lay an attack). It is planned that the bar appears when a enemy is selected and the bar starts moving when the player character is ready to attack and the enemy is in attack range. There have been different kind of thoughts of making the bar start moving very fast and then start slowing down etc. Obviously the hit areas are determined by the enemy's defence values.
